University from the other side – grading tests
It feels like an eternity passed since I took my first tests at my current university. However, this is just about 2 years ago. It seems like time flies by.
This semester was the first time I had to grade tests myself and now that the results have been published I can actually talk more open about it. Grading those tests was a lot of work that had to be done in very little time, as students want to know their grades as soon as possible after the test. I got kind of lucky, because those were math / statistics tests. It was still sometimes hard to follow all the steps through a student had (wrongly) taken. Sometimes I could just shake my had about how you can misread instructions to a complete extend. In my eyes, this is the main reason for failure. Read the rest of this entry »
