I will be attending the MinD Academy 2008 in Nürnberg this year. As I also want to do vacation I will be in Nürnberg from the 29th of September until the 5th of October. Many users do not read the openSUSE factory mailinglist but are happy KDE3 users. On the other hand, there are many good (and bad) arguments pro and con pushing KDE4 so hard. So what are the thoughts on KDE3 and KDE4 and what is the reasoning behind pushing KDE4 so hard? What will happen in the future?

This post tries to shine light on the existing arguments and in the end I will add my own thoughts about this topic. Furthermore, I will update this post if new arguments arise. I hope to reach not only factory mailing list users but also “normal” users with this post. Feel free to comment on it. However, I _will_ moderate the comments. I do not accept any offensive stuff.
