I will attend the “International Congress of Psychology” in Berlin from the 20.07.2008 to the 25.07.2008.
If you would like to meet me – especially if you are interested in usability or eyetracking – just drop me an email. You can do so by mailing to < icp2008 “at” fnmueller “DOT” de >. This emailadress is only going to be valid until the end of the ICP.
You can also have a look at my schedule to see if we have the same interests
Greetings
Felix

Attention_Map_Picture_3
What you see above is an Attention Map (radius: 120, sigma: 40, alpha blend: 30) of the openSUSE 11.0 installer. I used an eyetracker to generate the data. Normally, we use Eprime and SPSS to analyse the data, but I think using Nyan to generate some nice pictures helps “ordinary” people to understand what we see when we take a look at the data in SPSS.
This is data that was not taken from a scientific probe. It is scientifically not possible to extract any reliable conclusion from this series of pictures. It is a simple illustration of what is possible in the field of usability research and (maybe) gives a hint of where there is room for improvement in the openSUSE installer.
